On Wednesday (July 2), Oasis announced a 30th anniversary deluxe edition of their iconic 1995 album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which is set for release on October 3. The Britpop legend’s sophomore album has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide, and is the U.K.’s third biggest selling studio album of all time. The reissue will include five newly-recorded acoustic renditions of classic tracks, including the just-released version “Acquiesce,” produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher with Callum Marinho. The release will be available in various formats, including 2-CD and 3-LP sets, and features updated artwork by original LP sleeve designer Brian Cannon alongside new liner notes. This announcement comes only days before Oasis launches their highly-anticipated reunion tour, which kicks off on Friday (July 4) in Cardiff, Wales. This marks the first tour featuring both Noel and Liam Gallagher in 16 years, which includes a run of 41 dates across the U.K., Ireland, North America, Asia, Australia, and South America.
