Raiders Expected To Move RB Taiwan Jones To Cornerback Next Season
2:39PM Tuesday
February 26, 2013

Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie mentioned that they will ask RB Taiwan Jones to-move to-cornerback next season, per-Bill Williamson.

"I'm pushing for cornerback," said McKenzie. "I think it fits his skill set. I think we're going to see how he does there."

It's worth noting that Jones actually played some corner while at-Eastern Washington, so the position isn't exactly foreign to him. Still, it's never easy to make this kind of transition, but Jones has plenty of speed to work with, so there's a chance he could develop into a serviceable nickel cornerback-at some point.

The Raiders are still trying to dig themselves out of a tough financial situation and clearly need help in their secondary. We'll have to see who Jones does during training camp.
