Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has his work cut out for him, but he has an idea on which direction he wants to go.
He feels like there are a lot of similarities between the two west coast organizations, the 49ers once were a team in need of a much needed injection of brain power, but the talent was already there.
Finishing at or around the bottom of the conference every year does give a team the chance to draft quality talent. McKenzie feels they have enough talent to turn the Raiders into a contender.
"When you ask me what makes me feel better about the team, I have to say everything," McKenzie said, via the Monte Poole of the San Jose Mercury News. "Everything I needed to do last year already is in better shape this year.
"We're going to build this thing. We're going to build it the right way."
