Coach Dennis Allen knows his second year has to produce results, one place the Raiders have an advantage is the draft. The Raiders coaching staff was selected to coach in the senior bowl and it gave them more access to players to evaluate.
2013 is an important year draft wise for the Raiders, Allen has to start molding this team to the image he wants, and that comes with good drafting. He feels coaching the senior bowl gave the Oakland coaches a head start at being able to talk and work with players that are on their draft board. Allen spoke from the NFL combine about his coaching staff's experience:
"First of all, to really comment on the Senior Bowl, it was an outstanding experience for us, for our staff to be able to be there and see those players up close and personal and evaluate not how they play the game of football, but really what types of people they really are.
